Who am I?

Firstly, thank you so much for visiting my blog. It really means a lot to me.

I’ll just tell you a few short facts about me here, and if you want to read a full story about my life and mental health you can head over to THIS blog post!

My name is Charlotte but I identify as non-binary so most people call me Chaz. I have many nicknames amongst my family, Lottie, Lotts, Pickle (it’s difficult to explain). I’m 20 years old at the time of writing this, and my birthday is the 19th December 1997 (Yes, I hate it being close to Christmas and no, I don’t want a joint present.) I live in Hampshire, in the UK, however my boyfriend Jacob lives in the USA so we’re long distance.

I’ve suffered with mental illness since I was 7 years old, meaning I have over 13 years of experience, tips, and stories to share with everyone. That’s a lot of writing, if I do say so myself. After being in and out of therapy, in a psychiatric ward, with multiple mental health charities and on my own – I can safely say I have enough knowledge of the system to be able to pass on.

Not only have I been on one side of the mental health world, I’ve also been on the other. I have volunteered with online charity 7Cupsoftea.com for nearly 4 years now, even though I am on a break at the moment (hence my presence on here!)

As for my personal life, I have a crazy spaniel called Bob, and a small family including my mum, my dad, and my brother Ben who is 15. They all have the same bad sense of humour as me, sadly.

I started Unlunacy as a way to vent, but also as a way to get my opinions and experiences out there for all to read. I want this blog to be as honest as possible, and to avoid being fake with my audience. I also have a lot of advice, tips, and other amazing things to share with the world which I think might be interesting to some. Mainly, I just wanted to make a difference, and I hope that Unlunacy achieves that.

Anyway I’ll shut up now and let you explore the rest of Unlunacy! Thanks for reading!
