Games To Play At Home This Winter

So, the nights are getting colder and darker, and it’s getting more and more tempting to just stay in. But you’ve watched every episode of Breaking Bad on Netflix, you’ve napped so much that you never want to do it again, and you’ve run out of new ideas. Maybe it’s a good idea to enter the world of gaming, but where do you start? There are many different games on the market, and whilst some will help pass the time on those winter nights, not all of them will be for you. In this post, we’ll go through a few of the things that are out there, and see what the deal is.

Going old school

Some people just like it old school, and there is no denying that there are some great games out there that never get old. Most of us will remember playing Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, when everyone still had flip phones and bluetooth was as advanced as it got. And that was great, right? Well, it’s a throwback, and it could keep you occupied for a while, especially if you’ve clung onto that PlayStation 2. And given the value of vintage stuff nowadays, who can blame you for that?

If you want to step it up a notch (maybe the noughties just aren’t your thing), then you can stick with a classic game of Grand Theft Auto. The added fun here is that you can collect money – and even invest it in stocks – even though you may have to have a street race with someone to do it. This is a game that requires a bit more than Crash Bandicoot, but it’s worth investing in if you have a long period of time to spend playing. And since it doesn’t look like this cold is going to ease up anytime soon…

Money maker

Well, those types of games are good to fill the time, but as the internet develops and a new generation put their game development skills to the test, you could get a little more. The internet is a beautiful tool, and not only can you spend money on games, but you can also make it. You can check out how to earn money through the internet here if you’re into that, but let’s focus on games for now, because that’s why you’re here, right?

There are a few games that are really worth considering, predominantly because you can play live with people from all around the world, in real time. These types of games range from live casino games – such as those on – to live chess games, and include everything in between. Not only does this add to the realness of the experience, but you can interact with others, and choose whether you spend money, or nothing at all. And the best thing is, you can do it in your pyjamas… so whether its PS2 or live gaming, you won’t have to brave the cold to have a great time.
