Self-Improvement In A Month

There is never a right time to start a self-improvement period in your life. For some people it might be a year, a month, a week or a day. For some it might even be a constant self-improvement. Personally, I find that I go through months where I am particularly determined to right-my-wrong’s and improve from my mistakes of the previous months.

Why?

Self improvement is the most important thing to me in my life. After being through what I have been through; I feel I have been on a constant self improvement journey since 2014. It is slow, and steady, but it’s there all the time. I am very much an improvement-based person. I strive and energize in environments where there is chance for me to improve, grow and learn. I always feel the need to better myself, for myself, but also for my loved ones.

This year has been one of the most emotionally overwhelming years of my life. Not because of one emotion. I have just experienced lots of change in my life which has thrust upon me about 400 different emotions. My life plan at the beginning of this year was so vastly different to what it is now. I fully believe in the universe and destiny, regardless of how stupid or unbelievable that may sound to some people reading this. I also believe in karma, and I know that whatever happens badly to me, I will get good things also.

This month in particular has been difficult. As of a few days ago, I got fired from a job I really loved. Along with that, a good friend that I had been friends with for nearly 7 years decided to not be my friend anymore. Both of those things are massive blows alone, let alone put together – on the same day, no less. At the same time I have been trying to learn more about Buddhist beliefs, my belief in destiny, and also minimalism. I believe that throwing myself into learning these things will help me on my journey to recovering from the bad things.

November, I’ve decided, will be my self-improvement month. I’m going to implement what I’m learning from the things I’ve mentioned and spend the month improving myself. It’s almost like a personality, spiritual, sense-of-self makeover.

Things I’d Like To Achieve This Month:

  1. A decluttered, more fulfilling bedroom.
  2. Becoming more grateful for more things.
  3. Following and understanding Buddhist precepts and beliefs.
  4. Moving more towards minimalism.
  5. Learning more about eco-friendly living.
  6. Do more to accept myself and my life the way they are.
  7. Take better care of myself, and my wellbeing.
  8. Take comfort in the little things.
  9. More blogging!
  10. Discover new music
  11. Declutter my laptop and mobile phone.
